Tangled Hair & Christ’s Unfailing Love

The summer flew by and school was a few days away. In all the warm summer excitement and fun my Ethiopian American daughter and I realized we had neglected her braids. We had a job ahead of us! The tangled mess of hair was daunting, but we knew it needed to be undertaken. My daughter and I procrastinated a little,… Read More

A Call to Holiness

The journey is not always easy. The road is rough. And yet, through it all we are called to speak gracious words and act in a manner that honors Our Lord. Living a life of holiness and integrity is exactly what God asks of each of us. Our Lord desires everyone to labor to become Saints, like the holy men… Read More

Distress and a Prayer Tribe

Late one night a few weeks ago, as I struggled to be at peace with some situations with my family, I neared despair. I had been praying for weeks for these particular struggles, but was feeling like a balloon with all the air expelled. I had lost sleep, awakened by my pounding heart and fears flying wild and free. My… Read More

Trusting from My Knees

Mothering is demanding. It is one of the most arduous, frightening, yet delightful vocations. Children differ, each carrying their own crosses to bear and joys to share. As mothers, we give completely. Exhausted, we recognize that we cannot fulfill this task alone, we find must trust Our Lord. We trust in life’s most demanding circumstances, not merely the catastrophic times… Read More

A Healing Heart

A few months ago I was extremely hurt by someone very dear to me. A deep pain, one that caused my heart to ache fiercely and gave me reason to cry from deep within. My sweet friend, let us call her Amanda, had no idea she injured me so tremendously. She struggled with some buried pains herself. Her aching manifested… Read More

He Whispers Reassuring Love

Just yesterday, I was telling my girls that we needed to bail out our sandbox. It was brimming with mucky, standing water. Moss growing, toys molding, simply a mess! I explained to them that we needed to gather some cups and buckets and work together to scoop out the muck, cup by cup, discarding the filth that has grown over… Read More

Mission

Photograph by Laura Rousseau

My name is Sarah. I am convinced that through our everyday adventures God shows us His love. These experiences are our stories to share, stories that serve to draw each other nearer to Our Lord. We must learn to listen and observe God all around us. He whispers so we have to be still and listen, even if you are a wildflower…like me!! Wherever we are, whatever our journey, I believe God speaks to us. He meets us where we are, beckons each of our names, and calls us to Himself. By sharing my personal stories, I aspire to embolden you to authentically share your struggles and triumphs. I am praying for you, sister. Together, we will inspire others to courageously discern and follow the will of the Lord. Together, we will actively respond to our calls from God and rejoice in the ride together! Welcome to my journey!
