Diamonds in the Rough

“Look, Aunt Sarah, the grass looks like diamonds,” my 5-year-old nephew marveled. The grass was covered with a new frost and its crystals shimmered in the morning light. His young, pure heart noticed all things with such great wonder and attention. Immediately, I considered why had I not noticed this similarity before. Perplexed, I wondered if I could begin to… Read More

Soul Care

One of my daughters suffers from severe migraines that are sometimes debilitating. She has always longed for the migraines to cease. When she was younger and less mature, she had difficulty understanding the connection between her choices and the intensity and frequency of her migraines. The practitioners had offered her many tools and tricks for combating the onset of the… Read More

Peacock Plumes & Radiant Rainbows

A few weeks ago, one of my best friends comically sat her husband down and explained exactly why she needed a pet peacock. She was dead serious, however, after 25 years of marriage, her husband is used to her shenanigans. He heard her out and then, much to her dismay, denied her plea. Her heart was sad; disappointment shown on… Read More

A Fervent Fiat

Nearly 20 years ago, the Lord nudged us to adopt. I cannot say that I was shocked because I know, when He created me, God placed a longing in my heart to tend to the suffering and needy. Back in the 80s, when I was very young, I remember watching commercials that pleaded for funds for orphans in foreign lands… Read More

Walking Hand in Hand

My dear friend’s sister, Jenn, struggles with addiction. The disease torments this poor woman day and night. Continually, my friend, Barb, lifts her sister up in heartfelt prayer, begging Our Lord to be with Jenn, granting her the courage and strength to fight for her sobriety. Considering that it has been a particularly long and difficult battle lately, my friend… Read More

An Invitation to Kinship

Craftily escaping the busyness of my life, I made my way into the church for Adoration. Relieved, I settled in for some quiet time with Our Lord. Hunched over in prayer, I began to unload my heart. Just as my mind slowed and my focus arrived, unexpected popping noises ripped me from my peace. My head snapped up to locate… Read More

Mission

Photograph by Laura Rousseau

My name is Sarah. I am convinced that through our everyday adventures God shows us His love. These experiences are our stories to share, stories that serve to draw each other nearer to Our Lord. We must learn to listen and observe God all around us. He whispers so we have to be still and listen, even if you are a wildflower…like me!! Wherever we are, whatever our journey, I believe God speaks to us. He meets us where we are, beckons each of our names, and calls us to Himself. By sharing my personal stories, I aspire to embolden you to authentically share your struggles and triumphs. I am praying for you, sister. Together, we will inspire others to courageously discern and follow the will of the Lord. Together, we will actively respond to our calls from God and rejoice in the ride together! Welcome to my journey!
